A Sad Day – Wells College to Close its Doors
Another school announced it will be closing at the end of the this academic year. Wells College announced today “we have determined after a thorough review that the College does not have adequate financial resources to continue.”
Shrinking enrollment, changing demographics, and economic hardship will drive more schools to face the grim reality that they cannot continue to operate.
Wells joins a number of other Division III schools that have closed in the past few years.

- Finlandia – 2023
- Cabrini – 2023
- Medaille – 2023
- Fontbonne – 2024
- Birmingham Southern – 2024
Manhattanville University has been named the preferred teach-out partner for Wells College students.
