Weekend slate is rolling. Conference play is opening across the MIAC, NESCAC, NEWMAC, UAA, and more, while Friday night already produced one of the bigger women’s results of the young season.

CNU holds No. 8 Emory to 1-1. Atlantic Shores alumna Anaya Lozano scored with just over 10 minutes left as Christopher Newport (3-1-2) drew 1-1 at ranked Emory (4-0-2 after the result) in Atlanta. The Daily Press carried the recap this morning. Emory’s Siena Elder scored for the Eagles.

A full crawl of every school on the attached list is not possible in one cycle. These are the Friday DIII soccer items that posted on official sites or conference calendars:
- No. 8 Emory women 1-1 RV Christopher Newport (Atlanta). Lozano equalizer for CNU; Elder for Emory. Captains then travel to Oglethorpe on Sunday.
CNU schedule - Colorado College men 6-0 at Carroll (Wis.). Tigers sit 4-1 after the blowout and play UW-Eau Claire on Sunday in Waukesha.

- Live score dumps. Official accounts posting finals as they land — BVU over River Falls, MSOE conference win, WPI–MIT draw, WPU women 2-0, Rochester 4-2 loss, George Fox 3-3.
- Ranked-program branding. St. Olaf posted that it is one of only five DIII schools ranked this week in men’s soccer and volleyball and both cross country polls, plus a separate graphic that Emily Johnson leads DIII women in goals (8).
- Roster-composition argument. A side thread claiming large international shares on DII/DIII men’s rosters picked up a few replies. Not soccer-tactical, but it is what some accounts were arguing Friday.
- Low engagement, high volume. Most #d3soccer posts are sub-50 views in the first hour. The conversation is still happening on boards and athletics sites more than on X.
Off the D3 map (but worth a look)
Brighton 3-0 Arsenal. The Premier League champions’ perfect start ended in a rout at the Amex — including a goal from a corner, the one set-piece area Arsenal usually owns. Tottenham also lost 3-2 at home to Aston Villa and got booed off. If you needed a reminder that early tables lie, Saturday in England provided it.

Something I put on in the background
I clicked through SimpleCoachTV’s archive and landed on SimpleCoach to Coach w/ Colby Gay, Head Men’s Coach at Penn State Harrisburg (published May 16, 2026 — well outside the two-month window).
It is a long sit (~56 minutes) and that is the point. Gay talks through leaving a Cortland staff job for his first head job, why the Harrisburg fit mattered more than just “getting a title,” and how he thought about ceiling versus culture in a program that is still being built. If you recruit or coach in DIII, the stretch on what he wanted in an athletic department before he said yes is the part I would replay. Not highlight-reel content. Good conversation.
