Johnson talks through the jump from a D1 assistant seat to a DIII head job, why Stevenson appealed after stops at McDaniel/York/American, and what it actually looks like to rebuild a program that had not been known for scoring. One non-D3 story worth reading
Lionel Messi scored his 100th Inter Miami goal — a header off a Luis Suárez cross — and assisted Casemiro as Miami beat Cruz Azul 2-0 to win the Campeones Cup. It was also new manager Cristian “Kily” González’s first match in charge, and Messi’s 48th career trophy. Bonus subplot: Messi was later seen giving MLS commissioner Don Garber an animated earful after the ceremony.
