Easter Weekend Update as of 30 March 2024

Happy Easter Everyone! It’s been 2 months since I provided my last update, so with it being the Spring season, I thought I would do just that.

As I always do, let’s talk about the three legs of the stool that is All Things Division III Soccer. In other words, SimpleCoachTV, D3Soccer.Fans, and Money.

SimpleCoachTV

We keep going strong on SimpleCoachTV, although I have slowed in the number of videos I role out weekly. I blame that on my regular job and working on a startup … and too little coffee. I know most programs are in the middle of their spring seasons, so coordinating with coaches has been a challenge but my plan is come April/May, I will get some rookies to sit in the hot seat.

Bonus is that the channel has 1451 subscribers, as of 29 March @5:04 PM. Pretty astounding if you ask me. Still hard to judge what if any impact I am having on the game in Division III, but feedback continues to be positive. As I often do, for any coach that is reading this, send me an email and happy to have you on the channel.

Finally, I have used the channel to branch out a bit into non-Division III content. These will continue to come out under the Injured Time name. They are fun, but do require a lot of work. I plan on doing more when the topics strike me right.

D3Soccer.Fans

My focus as of late has been on this website. I am gearing up for the fall and trying to make it a place where you can come during the season and get updates, scores, and other interesting content. Here are some of the things I am working on.

1. Master Schedule – Discussions are underway to have the entire Division III schedule posted on the site in some consumable way. This will include any video or live stat links. Not so easy, especially as I want this automated as much as possible. There will need to be some money spent to accomplish it, but thanks to the Patreon Members, it shouldn’t be an issue.
2. Rankings – I am hoping to be able to host a fan poll that some of us were participating in on the D3Boards the past few seasons. This is an early conversation, but hoping to make it happen. I would also like to a coach’s only poll. Again, automation will be key, but it is something that I am keen on doing. Longer term, would love to revive the All American Awards. Little trickier, but think it would be cool to do.
3. Message Boards – With the re-birth of the D3Boards I wasn’t sure how to proceed with the Fan Boards we created in the cold winter without the D3Boards. I decided to keep them up and running, largely because any cost has been up front. I added functionality to post pictures a few months back, and today, this post will offer the first Post to Board functionality. In this way, any articles that are published will have an automatic Fan Board post. If you comment on it, whether in the article or on the boards, it will be captured in both places. I will still be posting in both places but at least there will be options for D3 Fandom.

Money

All of the above is happening thanks to the generosity of Patreon members. Everything related to the Fan boards is thanks to them and everything we do around the rankings and scheduling will be as well. I can’t express my gratitude enough. Thanks to them, the vision for what D3Soccer.Fans and SimpleCoachTV can become a reality.

Once all of these pieces of the puzzle are done, I can start to focus on the Patreon members. That said, if you want to see this site grow and more content added your support is welcome.
