Three More D3 Players are Called Up to National Teams in 2023

Wouldn’t you know, you write a post about three players getting called up to their respective U23 national teams, and you find out there were more? Well, come to find out that three more players had the honor of being called up. Anthony Quidichay, Chatham University , Kyle Lau of Pomona-Pitzer, and Josh Gonzaga of Carroll University received the phone call to participate in the Guam, Hong Kong and Philippines U23 teams. Starting to think this is probably as under reported as it gets. Whither SoccerAmerica?

This breaks the stigma of what DIII is and what It’s become…it’s a very serious thing when you have players like Josh that can excel in our conference and do the things, he’s done to gain attention on the international level… Carroll University Head coach Derek Marie

Anthony Quidachay, Defender, Guam

Quidachay, Chatham Men’s Soccer’s captain, is among nine first-time call-ups on Guam’s senior team for the qualiying matches. Quidachay made two starts on defense for the U23 team at the AFC U23 Asain Cup in early September.

Kyle Lau, Forward, Hong Kong

Reached the semifinals with Hong Kong’s u23 national team in the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Josh Gonzaga, Midfielder, Philippines

Junior forward Josh Gonzaga of Carroll University men’s soccer received the offer of a lifetime earlier this fall. Gonzaga has been offered a tryout with the U23 Philippines National Football Team this spring.
